Mike Willemse

Mike Willemse began his rugby journey at the University of Cape Town, where his performances earned him selection for South Africa U20s. He went on to represent Western Province and helped the side win the U21 Currie Cup before earning a Stormers contract in 2014.

In 2017, Mike joined the Southern Kings, where he developed into a key leader and went on to captain the side for two seasons in the URC. His performances earned him a move to Scotland with Edinburgh in 2019, where he spent two seasons before joining London Irish.

Mike made the move to Ealing Trailfinders in 2023 and has since been part of a hugely successful period for the club, helping Ealing win back-to-back Championship titles.

Now an experienced figure within the Trailfinders squad, Mike brings a wealth of South African, Scottish and English rugby experience, alongside proven leadership at the highest levels.

Away from rugby, Mike enjoys getting out on the golf course and spending time fishing whenever he gets the opportunity.
