Max Nagy

Max Nagy began playing rugby at the age of six or seven with Buckingham RFC, progressing through the club before making his first-team debut at just 18. While attending Royal Latin Grammar School, Max represented Buckinghamshire and was also part of the Northampton Saints pathway, before being released at 16.

A year in New Zealand proved to be an important part of Max’s development, as he joined Pakuranga U21s and experienced a very different rugby culture. He was also invited to trial for Auckland U20s, but chose to take the opportunity to travel and explore the country.

Returning to the UK, Max studied at Swansea University while training with the Ospreys Academy. He was named fullback in the BUCS Super Rugby Team of the Season for 2019/20 before making his Ospreys U23 debut against Connacht in September 2019. In May 2021, Max made his Ospreys first-team debut against the Dragons, scoring a try.

Max went on to make more than 50 appearances for the Welsh region, reaching his 50th cap against Glasgow in October 2025. Among the highlights of his time with Ospreys were a memorable Champions Cup win away at Montpellier and a high-stakes URC quarter-final against Munster. He was also recognised during the 2023/24 season with a backs award for his attacking performances throughout the campaign.

Now at Ealing Trailfinders, Max brings extensive Welsh and European experience to the squad as he begins the next chapter of his career.

Away from rugby, Max is a big Chelsea fan and enjoys live music, travelling and, naturally, finding a good coffee wherever he goes.
