Trailfinders Women Leavers 23/24

Following their inaugural Premiership Women’s Rugby campaign, Trailfinders Women announce their 12 leavers for 2023/24.

Our first leaver, Elisa Riffonneau, has had a huge impact on the squad in its first year. The French international was known for her barnstorming carries and beautiful offloads during her time at Trailfinders, and added a massive amount of attacking flair to the pack every time she played.

Next to depart is Emma Swords. A regular feature of the starting fifteen, Swords offered a organised and composed approach at scrum-half.

Third is Sofia Rolfi. The young outside-back returns to Italy to focus on her studies with a bright rugby career ahead of her.

Next is Meya Bizer. Despite her season ending injury, Bizer was brilliant for the culture of the squad, bringing a positive presence to every training session.

Likewise, despite being injured early on, Charlotte Wright-Haley will depart Trailfinders after making a positive impact on the environment around Trailfinders during the 23/24 campaign.

Courtney Pursglove will also leave the club this offseason. Pursglove will go down in Trailfinders history, having scored the club’s first ever try away at Harlequins, which was also nominated for try of the season.

Our sixth leaver is Megan Brodie. Brodie will return to Ireland to continue her career as a teacher.

Finally, Lou Dodd, Sophie Shams, Sian McGuinness, Lauren Brooks and Jo Bucknall all leave the club for a different challenge.

Director of Women’s Rugby Giselle Mather said: “All at Trailfinders Women recognise the fantastic contribution our leavers have made to our inaugural season. On behalf of all of us I would like to say a huge thank you for the part you have played and wish you all the best for whatever comes next.”
