Ruby Tui

Ruby Tui is one of the most decorated players in women’s rugby, with major honours across both Sevens and XVs rugby. She has been part of New Zealand’s Sevens programme since 2012 and has represented the Black Ferns at the highest level of the game.

In Sevens, Ruby won silver with New Zealand at the 2016 Rio Olympics before going one better at Tokyo 2020, where she helped New Zealand win Olympic gold. She was also part of the New Zealand team that won the 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens title and was named World Rugby Sevens Player of the Year in 2019.

Ruby subsequently returned to XVs rugby and was selected for the Black Ferns in 2022. She was part of the New Zealand team that won the 2021 Rugby World Cup, played in 2022, and became one of the standout players of the tournament.

Following a hugely successful career in New Zealand, Ruby joined Trailfinders Women ahead of the 2026/27 season. Her arrival brings an Olympic champion, Rugby World Cup winner and World Rugby Sevens Player of the Year to West London.
