Niamh Swailes

Niamh Swailes began her rugby journey with Ryton RFC before progressing into the England age-grade pathway. Her leadership qualities were recognised early, as she was named England U18 captain while also representing England U18s in Sevens.

Niamh continued her development in senior rugby with DMP Sharks during the 2021/22 season before making the move to Sale Sharks, where she spent three seasons from 2022 to 2025. Alongside her club career, she also represented England U20s, continuing her progression through the international pathway.

Niamh now brings her experience from grassroots, international age-grade and Premiership rugby to Trailfinders Women, where she is continuing the next chapter of her career.

Away from rugby, Niamh enjoys getting creative with crafts, discovering good coffee and heading to the theatre for a musical. She also loves a good chat – so don’t expect a quiet coffee if she’s around.
