Jess Cooksey

Jess Cooksey began her rugby journey with Winscombe, progressing from U15 through to U18 level before earning international recognition with England U18s. She then joined Hartpury College, continuing to develop her game while progressing through the England pathway.

At just 17, Jess represented England U20s on tour in Canada, while also gaining experience with the GB Sevens U18 programme. She later moved to Durham University, combining her rugby with her studies and even picking up Dissertation Awards during her time there. Alongside Durham, Jess also represented DMP Sharks.

Her performances earned her a place with Wasps Women, where she was named Young Player of the Year, before further England U20 involvement and a year abroad in Canada with the Calgary Hornets.

Jess has since returned to England and joined Trailfinders Women, bringing experience from international age-grade rugby, Sevens, university rugby and the domestic women’s game.

Away from rugby, Jess has a creative side and enjoys painting, art, music, reading and cooking.
