Francesca McGhie

Francesca McGhie began her international journey with Scotland Thistles in the former Celtic Challenge, where her performances helped put her firmly on the national team’s radar.

In 2023, Francesca was selected for the Scotland senior squad for the Six Nations, marking an important step in her international career. That year proved to be a breakthrough season, as she helped Scotland win WXV2 and was also nominated for the prestigious World Rugby Breakthrough Player of the Year award.

Alongside her international career, Francesca has gained valuable experience in the domestic game, previously representing Leicester Tigers before making the move to Ealing Trailfinders.

With international honours, a WXV2 title and recognition among the world’s emerging players already on her CV, Francesca is continuing to establish herself at the highest level of the women’s game.

Away from rugby, Francesca enjoys discovering new restaurants, reading and keeping up with fashion.
