Ella Amory began playing rugby in Brussels at the age of 10, initially developing at Boitsfort Rugby Club. For several years she was the only girl in her age group, and when structured girls’ rugby was unavailable in Belgium, she turned to athletics and Sevens before returning to XVs rugby.
Her progression into international Sevens came quickly. Ella represented Belgium U18s Sevens and later made her senior Belgium Sevens debut in the European Championship. She has since earned more than 20 international Sevens caps and represented Belgium at the World Sevens competition.
In 2019, Ella moved to England to pursue her rugby career, joining Harlequins Women. She spent four years with the club and was part of their Premiership-winning side in 2021. She then joined Trailfinders Women in 2023.
Alongside her playing career, Ella has become increasingly involved in coaching and the development of women’s rugby, founding Offload, a platform designed to connect female players with clubs, universities and unions.
