Amanda McQuade

Amanda McQuade began playing rugby at the age of seven with Virginia RFC in Ireland, playing alongside boys until the age of 12. Her early development laid the foundations for a career that would take her through the Ulster and Irish international pathways.

Amanda represented Ulster at both U15 and U18 level before progressing onto the international stage. She earned Ireland U18 Sevens honours and later represented Ireland U23s in 15s, gaining experience across both formats of the game.

At club level, Amanda played for Railway Union, helping the side win the All-Ireland League in 2022. That same year proved to be a major milestone in her career, as she received her first call-up to the Ireland senior squad.

Having progressed from grassroots rugby through provincial, age-grade and senior international pathways, Amanda now brings her experience of Irish rugby to Trailfinders Women.

Away from rugby, Amanda has a keen interest in health and wellbeing and physiotherapy. She also enjoys swimming, reading, good coffee and keeping active with padel and golf.
