Alana Borland
Alana Borland developed her rugby in New Zealand, playing at Lincoln University before progressing into the professional game with Matatū in Super Rugby Aupiki.
She represented Matatū from 2022 to 2025, gaining valuable experience at the highest level of the women’s game in New Zealand. Her performances also earned her a place in the Black Ferns setup, where she represented New Zealand from 2021 to 2025.
Alana’s international career included the ultimate stage, with appearances at both the 2022 and 2025 Rugby World Cups. Her experience with the Black Ferns and Matatū makes her a hugely experienced addition to Trailfinders Women.
Having spent her career at the heart of New Zealand’s elite women’s rugby pathway, Alana now brings her international and Super Rugby experience to a new challenge in England.
Away from rugby, Alana enjoys walking, travelling and photography, as well as spending time with dogs. She is also a fan of good coffee, cooking and baking, and getting out for a round of golf.
