Abi Burton

Abi Burton has taken an impressive and unconventional route to the top of the women’s game. She developed through the English rugby pathway before establishing herself with Wasps and then Trailfinders Women, where her performances earned her a call-up to the England senior squad.

Abi made her England debut against Wales in the 2025 Women’s Six Nations, scoring two tries on her first appearance. Later that year, she was part of the England squad that lifted the Rugby World Cup on home soil. She has since become an important member of the Red Roses setup, helping England win the 2026 Women’s Six Nations Grand Slam.

Abi has also represented Great Britain in rugby Sevens at two Olympic Games. She competed at Tokyo 2020 before returning for Paris 2024, where she was drafted into the squad during the tournament.

At Trailfinders, Abi has become a key figure in the club’s rapid rise, featuring in the side that reached its first-ever Premiership Women’s Rugby final in 2026. Her performances that season also saw her selected in the Women’s Six Nations Team of the Championship.
