Welcome George Worboys!

Ealing Trailfinders are delighted to announce the signing of former Bath fly-half George Worboys for the 2024/25 season.

Worboys played a pivotal role under Nick Easter in Chinnor RFC’s promotion campaign this season, as they were promoted from National League 1 to the Championship.

The 23-year-old made 16 appearances for Chinnor while on loan, scoring 11 tries and 192 points in an impressive year.

Having joined Bath in 2019, he leaves the club after making 10 appearances in the Premiership Rugby Cup and three in the Premiership. He was also called up to the England Under-18s Development Camp in 2019.

Worboys was named in this year’s Rugby Paper Dream Team and is described as the standout fly-half in National League 1.

After signing for Trailfinders, Worboys said: “Everybody in rugby recognises Ealing Trailfinders as an organisation with genuine ambition, and I am very excited by the opportunity to help the club move forward. In so many ways, in terms of the playing group, staff and facilities, this is a Premiership club in all but name – the future is bright.”

Director of Rugby Ben Ward expressed his excitement about George’s arrival: “George is an exciting young talent at a crucial position and we’re thrilled to be bringing him in. His attributes will compliment our style of play nicely.”
