Just three minutes later, Jones put through a perfectly weighted grubber-kick for the onrushing Geordie Gwynn to bag his second of the half. Jones remained perfect from the tee.

As the clock struck the half-hour-mark, Angus Kernohan finished expertly in the corner after a series of Scrum Penalties were awarded to Trailfinders thanks to Prop Lefty Zigiriadis. Jones added the conversion astutely from the touchline.

Just before the half, Hooker Mike Willemse took Ealing’s total to 33 points as he crashed over the line just to the right hand side of the uprights.

The try-scoring continued, this time it was Harry Thompson who scored the 7th try of the day for the men in green from a driving maul.

Next it was Deago Bailey’s turn to get in on the act as he bumped off his man following some fancy footwork and dotted down to take the home side up to the 50-point-mark.
