Kate Zackary Announced as Women’s Club Captain

Trailfinders Women are delighted to announce Kate Zackary as Women’s Club Captain ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

Zackary has been the captain of the USA national team since 2018 and has a huge amount of leadership experience, having led her country at the most recent Rugby World Cup.

The back row also helped her previous club, Exeter Chiefs, to back-to-back Premiership Women’s Rugby finals in 2021-22 and 2022-23, which were just their second and third seasons in the top flight.

After being named Captain, Zackary said: ““It’s an honor to be named club captain for the 2024-25 season. Last year we found our momentum and set a strong foundation for the program. I’m excited to build on that energy, with the addition of some new faces, and push for even greater success this year in the PWR.”

Head Coach Barney Maddison: “Kate is a well respected player within our group and a natural born leader, that is why as coaching group we have picked her as our club captain. She will also have a great leadership group around her who will help and assist her in her role as the women’s club captain.”
