Girl Guides Welcomed To The Takeoff 2

Trailfinders Rugby were thrilled to have the Girl Guides down at The Takeoff 2 for a training session with their community team before the game.

Coached by nine of the Trailfinders Women squad, the girl guides took part in a fun and engaging rugby session that will hopefully inspire them to take part in more rugby in the future.

The Trailfinders Community team is committed to growing girls rugby in Ealing, and further a field, and runs similar sessions in local schools.

Deputy Head of the Community Department Andrew Quick said: “It was incredible to host the Girl Guides at the Trailfinders Women vs Harlequins match, where they were coached by our professional athletes. Seeing their excitement as the first Girl Guides activation in PWR history was truly inspiring—it’s moments like these that empower the next generation of players and fans.”

At the training session, The Girl Guide Leaders said: “What an incredible showcase of female empowerment and how amazing the experience was for their girls.  We will definitely come back and watch another game.”

Vicky Alexander, England Rugby Women & Girls Growth Activator, said: “It’s such an important partnership for the regional clubs and Girl Guide units.  We aim to grow the sport and show young female athletes there is a place for them in rugby.”

If your club would like to run a training session on a game day and take part in our guard of honour for the men’s or women’s team, please email community@etprm.com to enquire about availability.
