The full match preview for Trailfinders Women’s trip to Stonex Stadium this Saturday to face Saracens in the Allianz PWR.

About The Opposition

Saracens currently top the Allianz PWR table with seven wins from eight possible this season.

They have scored more points than anyone else in the league whilst also conceding fewer than anyone else.

Despite these incredibly impressive statistics, Saracens host Trailfinders Women after their first loss of the campaign to fellow high flyers Gloucester-Hartpury. The win for the west-country side meant that the Cherry and Whites were left the only unbeaten side in the league.

What To Expect

Saracens had been ruthless in the league until their slip-up away to the reigning league champions.

Trailfinders Women will likely face a Sarries side looking to avenge that loss, meaning a stern test could be in store.

The full match preview for Ealing Trailfinders’ contest against Doncaster Knights at Trailfinders Sports Club.

About the Opposition

Doncaster Knights travel to TFSC, sitting fourth in the Championship following their 26-20 victory over Bedford Blues last weekend. They are still in the hunt for the league title, only three points off the top of the table.

The Knights have been good on their travels in the Championship, scoring the fifth most points of any side away from home. They also performed outstandingly during their trip to TFSC in the Premiership Rugby Cup.

The game was a nail-biter. Donny lost in the last kick due to a missed penalty from Billy McBryde.

What to Expect

Despite their favourable league position, Doncaster have been on the wrong end of some surprising results. They’ve already lost to Ampthill and Caldy this season, teams that were languishing towards the bottom of the table last campaign.

However, the Knights always pose a stern test to any team in the league. Coming with them to West London will be many ex-Trailfinders who now ply their trade in South Yorkshire, Jack Digby and Lewis Thiede, to name a couple.

The first men’s fixture of 2024 sees Ealing Trailfinders take on Caldy, in the first part of Saturday’s double-header at TFSC.

About the Opposition

Caldy have had a mixed-bag of a season so far, winning and losing three games each which leaves them ninth in the Championship.

The Wirral-based outfit travel to West London on the back of two impressive victories away at Ampthill (26-21), and most recently at home to Doncaster Knights (24-19), and so headed into the Christmas break on a high.

What To Expect

Matt Gallagher is the leading try-scorer at hooker for the Ravers, with the away XV set to bring a physical set-piece routine to the capital.

The honours between the two sides were split even last season, with a 26-24 away defeat followed up by a 73-14 thumping as Ealing ran in eleven tries. Saturday is set to be a more testing affair, however, with the visitors having notched up three wins in their last four games.
