Cannon to depart Trailfinders

Matt Cannon will depart Ealing Trailfinders at the end of the 2025/26 season.

Cannon, alongisde Tomiwa Agbongbon and Harry Yates have spent the Elior Champ Rugby season on loan with Cornish Pirates, and will make a permanent move to the Penzance side next season.

Director of Rugby, Ben Ward said:

“Matt joined us through our Brunel pathway and has always shown great potential throughout his time at the club.

“We’re passionate about supporting the development of young players and providing opportunities for them to progress, and Matt’s loan spell with Pirates has given him valuable game time and an environment to continue that development – something we’re very appreciative of.

“We’re pleased to see him take this next step in his career and would like to thank him for his efforts during his time with us. Everyone at the club wishes him all the very best for the future.”
