Angus Kernohan and Ollie Newman 24/25 Men’s Club Captains

Ealing Trailfinders are thrilled to announce that Angus Kernohan and Ollie Newman have been chosen as joint Men’s Club Captains for the 2024/25 season.

Kernohan joined Trailfinders in 2020 from Ulster. He is now in his fifth year at TFSC and has helped the club win two Championship titles and two Championship Cups.

Newman joined the club in 2022 from Northampton Saints and helped Trailfinders to their second Championship title last season and the Championship cup in 2022/23.

Kernohan said: “It was a real honour to be asked to be Men’s Club Captain, and I’m very appreciative of the opportunity. It’s a really exciting year for the club, and hopefully Ollie and I will be able to work well with the coaching team and lead the player group to do our best and have a really enjoyable season. I believe if we do that, it’ll be a successful one.”

Newman said: “I feel privileged to be selected as Men’s Club Captain alongside Angus. In this role we will both strive to represent the needs of the group whilst ensuring all actions constructively contribute towards achieving the team’s goals.”

Director of Rugby Ben Ward said: “I couldn’t be more happy to name these two as the leaders of our squad going into the new season. They are both fiercely competitive on the pitch and hungry for more success as a team.

“They are very professional in how they conduct themselves and I believe they will put the needs of the team before their own. I am looking forward to them representing as a group this season.”
