Sam Shiels

Sam Shiels has progressed through the Trailfinders and Brunel pathway, developing from university rugby into the Premiership Women’s Rugby environment.

A fly-half, Sam represented England U20s before progressing into the England U21 pathway. She was part of the England U21 setup during 2024 and 2025, gaining valuable experience at international age-grade level.

Sam joined Trailfinders Women in 2024 and has continued her development within the club’s Premiership squad. Her progression is another example of the pathway between Brunel University and Trailfinders, which has helped develop a number of England and international players.

Still early in her senior career, Sam represents the next generation coming through the Trailfinders pathway, combining England age-grade experience with her development in Premiership Women’s Rugby.
