Welcome Sean Lonsdale!

Ealing Trailfinders are delighted to announce the signing of powerful lock forward Sean Lonsdale from Welsh side Dragons RFC.

The 26-year-old will be moving to West London following two seasons with the URC outfit, having made 17 appearances in the 23/24 season across all competitions. He is equally comfortable in the back row.

Londale’s career took off during his time at Welsh championship team RGC 1404, where he caught the eye of Premiership side Exeter Chiefs. Moving to the Chiefs in 2016, Lonsdale scored five tries in 61 appearances during his six-year stint in Devon.

During that period, he also spent time on loan at National League 1 sides Taunton and Plymouth Albion before establishing himself in the first team for Exeter, winning two Premiership titles and the European Champions Cup.

After signing for Trailfinders, Lonsdale said: “I’m very much looking forward to joining Ealing Trailfinders. They’ve proven themselves to be a dominant force in the Championship for a number of years with quality across the board, and I’m excited to see what I can add to the team, whilst challenging myself playing in a different league against different opposition.”

Director of Rugby Ben Ward said: “Sean is a great signing for the club going into next season. He’s experienced at the top level of European and domestic rugby which is an incredibly valuable asset to be able to bring into our squad. I’m looking forward to him starting with us in July.”
