Tom Denton to join Ealing Trailfinders from Gloucester Rugby
Ealing Trailfinders are pleased to announce the signing of Tom Denton from Gloucester Rugby on a two-year contract.
The second-rower adds a huge amount of experience to the squad and as a set-piece expert he will look to strengthen both the scrum and lineout for the 2018/19 campaign.
The 30-year-old began his career with Yorkshire Carnegie under the stewardship of former England Coach Stuart Lancaster, and made 60 appearances for the Headingley outfit between 2006 and 2012.
From there he moved to Leinster and featured 40 times in four seasons in Dublin during one of the most successful times in the club’s history where they dominated both European and Domestic titles.
The 6ft 6” lock then returned to England in 2016 as he signed for Gloucester, and has played seven times for the Cherry and Whites whilst regularly being a strong part of their A League squad.
Denton is excited to be swapping Kingsholm for Vallis Way:
“Im really looking forward to joining the club and I hope to bring my experience to the squad. Speaking with the coaches there is clearly plenty of ambition here so we’re hoping to push on and have a successful year.”
Director of Rugby Ben Ward is delighted to add yet more experience and power to the pack.
“Tom is a signing that we are very excited about and he has a proven rugby CV which is highly impressive. To have been a central part of the success during his time in Ireland shows what ability he has, and we look forward to him bringing that to Ealing Trailfinders to play an important role next season.”
