Reon Joseph signs new contract

Ealing Trailfinders can today reveal that Reon Joseph has signed a new contract at Ealing Trailfinders.

The winger has excelled after spending two years in the National Leagues, and he has now committed his future to the West Londoners.

Joseph has been on loan at Chinnor this season and hasn’t missed a match of their National One campaign, crossing the try-line nine times in 20 appearances.

The 19-year-old came through the Academy at Ealing Trailfinders and burst on to the scene when making his debut against Yorkshire Carnegie at the end of the 2017/18 season.

He scored two tries including one with his first touch of the match and a memorable five-pointer with just a minute left to bring his side level and rescue a draw.

Last season he was on loan at London Irish Wild Geese, and was amongst the top try-scorers in the division, scoring 18 tries in 18 matches with his electric pace proving too much for many defenders to deal with.

Next season he will be eyeing up a place in the first team squad as he looks to make the transition in to the Greene King IPA Championship.

The winger is looking forward to another campaign at Trailfinders Sports Club.

“I feel like my time at Ealing Trailfinders has helped me grow on and off the pitch. I'm looking forward to continuing to improve over the coming seasons and am very excited for what's to come.”

Director of Rugby Ben Ward is looking forward to having Joseph amongst the squad for the 2019/20 season.

“Reon is a hugely exciting talent and he has developed well in Nat 1 and Nat 2 over the last few years.

I expect him to be playing Championship rugby next year and I think he has the ability to take the league by storm. He is another player who has been with us for a few years and we want to have a lot of stability in the makeup of our squad next year.”
