Pat Howard signs for Ealing Trailfinders from the Dragons
Ealing Trailfinders are pleased to announce the signing of Pat Howard from the Dragons for the 2018/19 season.
The centre, who can also play on the wing has been with the Dragons for two years and has made 35 appearances for the Rodney Parade outfit, making an impressive mark in the Pro 14.
The South African began his career in his home country with Western Province, making his debut in 2012 and spending three years in the Currie Cup.
The 26-year-old then spent a year at Thomond Park with Munster before returning to South Africa with the Stormers in Super Rugby.
Howard left Cape Town for Northampton Saints, who he was with for a year but then the 6ft 2” centre headed to Wales to join the Dragons.
He has been an ever-present in their squad for the last two years, and will now head to Vallis Way for his next chapter.
Howard also represented his country at Under 20 level, and will add further quality to the back-line with the likes of Guy Armitage, Harry Sloan and Lewis Jones in the midfield.
The versatile back is thrilled to be heading to West London:
“I’m really excited to be joining such an ambitious club and looking forward to the opportunity to contribute to their success, winning culture and progression.”
Director of Rugby Ben Ward is delighted to add another top class centre to the back-line for next season.
“Pat is an abrasive ball carrier who has great pace and will add further competition to our midfield. He has experience at the top level and will be a top addition to our squad.”
