Orr heads north to sign on at Vallis Way
Harrison Orr will head to Vallis Way from Australia to become the latest player to join Ealing Trailfinders ahead of their return to the Greene King IPA Championship.
Ben Ward’s side will play in the Championship for the second time in their history having won the National 1 title with 136 points, nine more than their nearest rivals Rosslyn Park.
The 21-year-old Orr can play second row or back-row and he moves to West London from West Harbour in his native Sydney, a team he has played with for the past three seasons in the Shute Shield, the inter-state New South Wales tournament.
He has also played for Australia’s U20 side in 2013 and trained with the Greater Sydney Rams squad during their National Rugby Championship campaign in 2013.
“Harrison is someone who came to our attention with some eye catching performances in the Shute Shield, ” Ward, Ealing Trailfinders Director of Coaching said. “He is extremely powerful with his ball carrying and defence and also has a great set of hands so will fit in really well with our game plan.
“His ability to play in the second row and back-row as well as being a line-out option will be extremely valuable and I think he can make a real impact in the Championship.”
