Nathan Fowles to sign for Ealing Trailfinders from Edinburgh Rugby
Ealing Trailfinders is pleased to reveal that Nathan Fowles has signed for the 2019/20 season from Edinburgh Rugby on a two-year deal.
The scrum-half has been in the Scottish Capital since 2015 and has gone on to make 71 appearances during the last four years at BT Murrayfield.
The 25-year-old came through the Sale Sharks Academy and also featured 26 times for the first team before moving to Scotland.
He represented England at Under 20 level back in 2013 but has since been called up to the Scotland squad on a number of occasions, including the 2017 Autumn Internationals and 2018 Six Nations.
A pacy number nine, Fowles is a huge threat around the ruck with the speed to make breaks at will which has been one of his main assets, and he is also an impressive goal-kicker when called upon.
His speed has also seen him represent Edinburgh at Sevens, scoring six tries in their 2016 Melrose tournament victory.
Fowles is excited for the 2019/20 season in West London.
“I’m really looking forward to joining Ealing Trailfinders. It’s an exciting time to become part of a very ambitious club and I can’t wait to get stuck in.”
Director of Rugby Ben Ward is looking forward to Fowles heading to Trailfinders Sports Club.
“I’ve seen Nathan come through from the Sale academy to become a top player in the Pro 14 so we are delighted that he’s chosen to join us. He is a very exciting player who will bring a lot of energy and pace to our game.
He has a huge amount of experience for someone of his age and will suit our style of play very well.”
