Mark Bright to return to London Scottish
Ealing Trailfinders can today confirm that Club Captain Mark Bright will return to London Scottish at the end of the season.
The number eight made his 50th appearance for the club in Saturday’s B&I Cup Semi Final victory over Bedford Blues, and has been an ever-present in the match day squad since joining in 2016.
The 39-year-old won the Rugby Players Association Championship Player of the Year last season and continued his form in to the 17/18 campaign, forming an impressive partnership with Kieran Murphy and Rayn Smid in the back-row.
The Club Captain will now return to the Athletic Ground, where he spent five years featuring for the Scots and consistently showed his ability from the base of the scrum.
The New Zealander had this message for everyone at Vallis Way:
“I’d like to thank everyone at Ealing Trailfinders for the past two seasons. The club has come a long way and I’m sure it will keep getting better and better.
To the coaches, medical and backroom staff thank you for everything and I wish all the boys the best of luck for next year.”
Director of Rugby Ben Ward thanked Bright for his outstanding contribution to the club.
“Mark has been a phenomenal player for us over the last two seasons and we have been very fortunate to have a player like him. He has led from the front on the pitch and has been a key reason in us reaching the top end of the Championship table.
I’m sure he will continue to show his quality next year at Scottish and we look forward to meeting again in the local derbies.”
