Lancuba adds Argentine beef to pack
Ealing Trailfinders have brought in Argentina international Ignacio ‘Nacho’ Lancuba for their 2016-17 Greene King IPA Championship campaign.
Lancuba has played five times for Los Pumas having previously played at the 2011 Junior World Cup.
The 24-year-old arrives from Jersey and he came off the bench during the Channel Islanders 35-7 win over Ealing Trailfinders at St Peters last December.
“Joining Ealing Trailfinders is not only a great opportunity but also a great challenge, ” Lancuba said. “This is a club with high ambitions and has everything to be one of the best teams in the league.
“I can't wait to get to the club, get to know my teammates and start to work together. Last but not least I want to thank the coaching staff for this great opportunity and trusting in me.”
The Buenos Aires native caught the eye of the Jersey coaching staff with his performances for San Cirano, a club in the Argentine capital.
Lancuba went on to make 50 appearances for Jersey and scored two tries. He will be the second full international on Ealing Trailfinders books alongside Will Harries who has won three caps for Wales.
“Nacho has been part of an excellent Jersey scrum this season, ” Ealing Trailfinders coach Alex Codling said. “He also has International playing experience in a key area for us. I am delighted he has signed with us.”
