Harries: We're focusing on ourselves

Ealing Trailfinders winger Will Harries refused to get carried away by the top of the table battle against Bristol, and has challenged his fellow players to treat it like any other match.

Harries hopes that some diligent preparation will enable his side to capitalise on any vulnerability that Bristol exposed.

“We’ve watched a lot of footage of Bristol,” said the 30-year-old. “They are obviously a good attacking threat.

“They’ve got good players all over the park but we’ve reviewed them and we haven’t let in a try in the last two games so hopefully we stick to our defensive policies and push on from there.

“We’re planning on keeping the scoreline down and getting some tries ourselves.”

Although Saturday’s game is one of the most crucial this season, Harries claims the importance of the occasion will not affect their performance.

“Everyone likes a competitive game, it’s on Sky so all the boys are excited to get on the field,” he added.

“It’s a big occasion because it’s the top two playing against each other on TV. Everyone is always buzzing to play a TV game, and we’re at home as well.

“We love playing on our pitch so I think all those factors come into play really. Whatever happens this weekend we can re-assess and see where we’re at. If we’re close to them, we can push for that top spot.”
