Ealing Trailfinders looking to get back to winning ways as they head to Friday Night Lights in Jersey
Ealing Trailfinders have made six changes to their starting line-up for tomorrow’s Greene King IPA Championship match against Jersey Reds at Stade Santander International.
The West Londoners travel to the Channel Island looking to get back to winning ways after defeat to Bristol in their last outing, but they take on an in form Jersey side who are climbing the Championship table.
There are three changes in both the backs and the forwards as the starting line-up has a refreshed look about it for the match under the floodlights in Round 16.
James Gibbons and Alun Walker are joined by Mark Tampin in the front-row who returns to the number three shirt, whilst the second-row remains unchanged with Barney Maddison and captain Harry Casson continuing their partnership.
There are two changes in the back-row, with Dan Temm and Morgan Allen starting alongside Kieran Murphy in an area boasting plenty of ball-carrying strength.
Luke Carter and Aaron Penberthy will continue as half-backs after an impressive display against the league leaders, but a new-look centre pairing of Lewis Robling and Piers O’Conor will be looking to add some pace and power to the midfield.
James Cordy Redden and Will Harries continue on the wings, whilst Peter Lydon comes in at full-back and will look to use his kicking game to the advantage of the Trailfinders.
Matt Cornish, Will Davis and Lewis Thiede offer a front-row alternative, with Rayn Smid and Mark Bright providing plenty of experience on the bench.
Scrum-half Calum Waters returns to the squad after recovering from injury, and Luke Daniels completes the match day 22.
Fly-half Aaron Penberthy is looking forward to taking on his former club as the Trailfinders look to get back to winning ways:
“After playing there for three years I know how tough the conditions can be there on a Friday night, so we’ll have to play our best rugby and show what we can do.”
