Ealing Trailfinders announce new partnership with Cardinal Newman
Ealing Trailfinders and the Trailfinders Rugby Academy are delighted to announce a new partnership with Cardinal Newman Catholic School and Sixth Form College.
Newman Trailfinders Rugby Academy will be the first Satellite EPP (Elite Player Programme) as part of an ambitious plan to increase the opportunities that currently exist for the aspirational player pathway.
Based in Hove and under the leadership of Wes Horscroft who himself boasted Premiership pedigree with London Irish, the Newmans Trailfinders Rugby Academy will support the development of aspirational players at U16 and U18 level.
Horscroft is hugely excited by the new partnership with Ealing Trailfinders.
“Within four years Newman Rugby Academy has become one of the leading state rugby colleges in the country. Winning national competitions as a squad are a consequence of this process.
Our ultimate goals as a college lie within players and development and their pathway to excellence, however this cannot stop at 18 as they leave us.
We have found in Trailfinders Rugby Academy the right establishment to create an environment towards elite performance levels. Long term I expect to be able to watch my academy players wearing Ealing Trailfinders first team jerseys.”
Ealing Trailfinders Academy Manager, Ty Sterry, commented: “I am elated to have this partnership with Wes and Cardinal Newman School. I was so impressed at the vision for the school and I can see an excellent opportunity to support this by identifying and developing talented players who in the future could join our Academy programme at Brunel University.”
