Craig Trenier to join Ealing Trailfinders from Richmond
Ealing Trailfinders is pleased to reveal the signing of Craig Trenier from Richmond for the 2019/20 season.
The former Ireland Under 20 international has been one of the most formidable props in the Greene King IPA Championship this year and will make the move across Kew Bridge in the summer.
Trenier has made 45 appearances for Richmond and caused havoc at scrum time against Ealing Trailfinders in the recent match between the two sides earlier this month.
The 25-year-old was at Ulster in his native Belfast before moving to Richmond, which is where he represented his country at age grade level.
Trenier, who weights in at 120kg will be fighting with the likes of Elliot Millar Mills and George Davis for the starting shirt next year.
The prop is looking forward to his move to Trailfinders Sports Club.
“I’m very excited to be joining a club like Ealing Trailfinders as they have achieved so much in a small timeframe. I can’t wait to get started and help them as much as possible achieve their goals for next season.”
Director of Rugby Ben Ward is thrilled to add such strength to the scrum for next season.
“Craig has been one of the outstanding performers in the league over the last couple of years and we are delighted to welcome him to Ealing Trailfinders. His best ability is his scrummaging as we found out a fortnight ago against Richmond, and that is what we look for in a tight-head so he is a great addition to the squad.”
