Casson adds strength to second-row
Ealing Trailfinders have signed Harry Casson to strengthen their pack for next season’s Greene King IPA Championship campaign.
The second-row forward moves to Vallis Way from Moseley after a season at Billingsley Common. Last season he featured in three of the league and British and Irish Cup matches against Ben Ward’s team, including both in west London.
In total the 24-year-old played 15 times for Kevin Magg’s team and scored one try.
“I am very excited to be joining Ealing Trailfinders next season, ” Casson said. “It's an ambitious club who play an exciting brand of rugby.
“I am looking forward to being part of a great squad that I believe can be competing well in the Championship next season. I am also eager to start working with Alex Codling and Ben Ward to develop my game and hopefully give the supporters plenty to cheer.”
Casson hails from Bristol and he joined the Gloucester Academy while studying at Hartpury College. He played once for the Cherry and Whites and later joined Worcester Warriors where he spent time on loan at Yorkshire Carnegie, Coventry and Cinderford.
He has also played for Nottingham and represented England Academies U19, England Students and captained the England Counties U20 side.
“Harry is someone we have been keeping an eye on for the last couple of seasons, ” Director of Coaching Ward said. “He is a good lineout forward and has done well this season playing for Moseley.
“He is also at a good age to really develop well under Alex Codling and push on in his career. His mobility will be a good factor on our pitch and he will add competition to our second row.”
