Ben West to sign from Yorkshire Carnegie
Ealing Trailfinders can today announce another new arrival for the 2018/19 season, with Ben West joining from Yorkshire Carnegie on a two year deal.
The second-rower has made 31 appearances for the Emerald Headingley side since arriving in 2016, and will add more quality to the squad for next season.
West joined Yorkshire Carnegie mid way through the 2016/17 season from London Welsh, and has since been virtually ever-present in their match day squad as they consistently battle towards the top end of the Greene King IPA Championship.
The 26-year-old played over 50 times for Welsh and helped them win promotion in the 2013-14 season as well as lift the British and Irish Cup in 2016, giving him a vast amount of experience in the Championship.
Standing at 6 ft 6” he will add further size and knowledge to the line-out, and will look forward to working with the likes of Harry Casson, Jordan Onojaife and Tom Denton in the second-row.
West is pleased to be heading South to join Ealing Trailfinders:
“I’m looking forward to joining the club and after speaking with some of the members of the squad that I have already played with it is a very exciting time to be joining. There is clearly plenty of ambition there and I can’t wait to be a part of it.”
Director of Rugby Ben Ward is pleased to be adding yet more experience to his squad.
“Ben has been in and around the Championship for a number of years and knows exactly what is needed to compete at the top end of the table whilst also having experienced the Premiership. He is a very consistent performer and I have no doubt that he will be a top player for us next season.”
