Volunteer Experience Available: x2 strength & conditioning places and 1 sport science place.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience at an ambitious full time professional club currently ranked as one of the top 24 clubs in England.
There is the opportunity to be an integral part of our support team, having involvement with experienced performance staff at our high-class training facilities at the Trailfinders Sports Club, Ealing, West London.
It will provide a unique opportunity to gain experience in an applied setting. You will be involved in any daily and weekly screening process and will gain important roles and responsibilities as your experience and confidence grows.
You will be an important part of a performance team that delivers strength and conditioning, injury prevention protocols and rehabilitation to the clubs squad. In addition you will be exposed to GPS monitoring, strength diagnostics, wellness monitoring and how this is all linked into producing better rugby players.
You must have excellent communication skills and be able to build respectful relationships with the clubs playing and non-playing staff. You will provide assistance to the clubs medical staff in regards to an injured player’s rehabilitation and return to train/play protocols. You will be provided with expert training and mentorship throughout your experience.
Current enrolment on an undergraduate degree in Strength & Conditioning/Sport Science etc is essential. You may have a successful record and experience of participating with sports teams and a history of volunteering. A working knowledge of the game of rugby union is desirable.
You must be fully committed to the team’s core values and have an outstanding work ethic and ability to participate and communicate as part of team. You will receive all in-house CPD & training, daily meals and staff kit as part of your work experience. The placements will begin in June 2018 and run until April 2019.
