Alex Lundberg puts pen to paper for 2019/20 season
Ealing Trailfinders is pleased to announce that Alex Lundberg has signed a contract extension for the 2019/20 season.
The loose-head prop has been a standout performer so far in the 18/19 campaign and has enjoyed a battle with Jordan Els for the starting shirt all year.
The 24-year-old joined the Trailfinders on loan last season after leaving Wasps but made his move to the Green and Whites permanent in the summer, going on to make 19 appearances so far.
The former England Under 20 international who came through the Wasps academy is a fierce ball-carrier and has been a crucial part of the squad which has seen the Trailfinders sit second in the league with plenty still to play for.
Lundberg is pleased to be staying in West London for another year.
“I’m really happy to have signed on, it’s been great to a lot of game time under my belt in comparison to the previous couple of years. I feel like I’m becoming a better player and really enjoying learning off Steve Neville so wanted to keep working with him.
There are also a really good group of players staying on and hopefully we can build on this season as a squad. I’m looking forward to finishing off the season strongly and keep putting together good performances in the league and Cup Final.”
Director of Rugby Ben Ward is thrilled to have another key member of his squad for the 2019/20 campaign.
“Alex is a top quality player who has shown what he can offer with a lot of consistent performances this season. His ball-carrying gives us some great front-foot ball and he is also a very strong scrummager so we are pleased to have him on board for next season where we believe he will continue to get better.”
